Egonaut - Mount Egonaut (TRANS107)
Two years after the successful debut "Electric" and the three-track EP
"Los Egonauts", EGONAUT returns with "Mount Egonaut". The album-opener
"Crawl" sets the mood for the rest of the album; heavy, fast
well-arranged hard rock! The band smoothly blends the sleazy/melodic
elements with a slight touch of stoner rock. Add a swirling 70's organ
and in-your-face vocals and voilà: you've got yourself some Bastard
Rock. For friends of MUSTASCH, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR and METALLICA.
Faith - Decades Of Despair (TRANS110)
4 years after the 3rd album from FAITH, the band returns with their 4th
opus, and for those who enjoyed their previous album, "Blessed", this is
no dissapointment. The band, together with acts like CANDLEMASS and
COUNT RAVEN, were among the pioneers of the 2nd wave of doom metal scene
in Sweden. On this album, the band ends, very surprisingly, with a
cover of LOUIS ARMSTRONGS monster hit "What a wonderful world". How does
that sound ? Well...find it out yourself !!
Qoph - Freaks (TRANS106)
Swedish band, QOPH delivers 100 % when they get their act together !
Since their 2004 album "Pyrola", the sound have become heavier, but
maintaining the psychedelic edge they always had. Dreamy guitar melodies
takes off where the heavy distorted power rock takes off. A worthy 3rd
release from this Swedish cult group.
Dödaren - Maen (TRANS105)
Truly Nordic, the debut album “Maen“ from Gothenburg based DÖDAREN,
inspires with a cascade of riffs and melancholic melodies. Reminding you
of the most classic 60’s and 70’s hard rock acts, Maen goes further
offering a fresh breeze, never loosing touch with the significance of
modern Swedish energy. Most of the songs run well beyond typical
radio-length and take you on a journey in harmonics, on a spinning
progression and finally punch you in the face with pure rock fury. With
Swedish lyrics on top, the four members of DÖDAREN take a step in a new
direction, paving the way for many new acts of original hard rock music
to come.
The debut album from DÖDAREN is available through Transubstans Records
on the 5th of December 2012.
Three Seasons - Understand The World (TRANS101)
"After a very successful debut album and a largely appreciated 7-incher,
THREE SEASONS are now working on a new full-length LP! The album is a
twisting and turning mixture going to many different places while at the
same time never leaving the sound of Three Seasons – the grooving,
hard-hitting drumming and dynamic bass married with characteristic lead
vocals and a most wicked guitar sound. It's a strong foundation of an
original band, who clearly have developed and found their sound! Here
you'll find folky grooves, Hendrixian guitar leads, rock-solid riffing,
and more still... These Swedes deliver yet another amazing release
you'll have to get your hands on ASAP! An essential record for anyone
into LED ZEPPELIN, JIMI HENDRIX, DEEP PURPLE, THE DOORS or bands
similar."
Salma Gandhi - The Quest For Nonsense Never Ends (TRANS092)
Salma Gandhi is a swedish instrumental band formed 2005 in Malmö.
The members had been active at the stoner/metal/punkscene in Malmö for years
and was hungry to create something totally different. After hours of jam sessions
and a lot of fun they started to find some kind of a sound and concept and started making compositions.
The musical genre is sometimes described as 70´s filmmusic or stonerjazz and the goal of the band
is to give the recipient a somewhat narrative musical trip with a gallery of strange characters
and different murky landscapes popping up along the way. 2012 they will release their debut album
"The Quest For Nonsense Never Ends" at Transubstans records. Some of the main influenses are
Pink Floyd, Oddjob, The Ethiopiques, Boris and Alfred Jarry.
Sideburn - IV Monument (TRANS098)
Transubstans is proud to announce the 4th album by Swedish SIDEBURN.
The band have gained a solid reputation in the classic rock genre, mixing
retro hardrock with todays classic rock sound, appealing to both friends of
ZEPPELIN, SABBATH, early SCORPIONS as well as new bands like ALTER BRIDGE.
Expect heavy guitar attacks, backed up by a steady rhythm section that we could hear in
classic bands such as RAINBOW and UFO. They still possess the doom metal tone,
only this time they have expanded their sound - expect a wonderful mixture of
classic hardrock, doom metal, progressive hardrock and a dose of blues
The Brimstone Days - On A Monday To Early To Tell = Digipack = (TRANS099)
"Just close your eyes and dream away to the 60 - and 70's rock,
listening to an energetic band with an incredible groove. You will be
filled with the feeling that clearly we can move mountains if we help
each other." The Brimstone Days, shortened TBD, is a band from Malmö in
southern Sweden. The band always had their mind set on becoming a
knock-out live act - and with hundreds of gigs all over Europe (Sweden,
Denmark, Poland, Germany, Netherlands, Scotland and Spain) they have put
their stamp on this statement a long time ago. With their full-length
album "On A Monday Too Early To Tell", TBD has once again shown that
they rule the dance floor. The amazing grooves that this album features
makes it just impossible to stand still! In the veins of Hendrix,
Zeppelin, Free, Humble Pie and Leaf Hound, this power trio continues to
electrocute the live scene around the world. "On A Monday Too Early To
Tell" is a statement - proving that music doesn't become more alive than
this. The album will be released on Transubstans Records September 12,
2012.
Captain Crimson - Dancing Madly Backwards (TRANS100)
70’s rock had a revival during the latest ten years, but what is it that
makes a band stand out in today’s great variety of this kind of rock?
Is it the uncompromising rawness of the blues-based Sabbath riffs that
once was written? Is it the vintage speakers and instrument, combined
with pure analogue recording that the commercial scene lacks? Or is it
just spelled CAPTAIN CRIMSON?
Four enthusiasts from Örebro, Sweden, have managed to shape a palette of
blues-based rock with heavy, fuzzy elements. The result is a
full-length album called “Dancing Madly Backwards” and recollects the
tunes of GRAVEYARD, WITCHCRAFT, MOUNTAIN and LEAF HOUND.
CAPTAIN CRIMSON also features Stefan Norén from BLOWBACK, who released
“800 Miles” on Transubstans in 2010.
As the band says: “We guarantee you that this album makes you swing your
head to the beat of the music and fill you with euphoria that many
bands lack.”
No more needs to be said.
“Dancing Madly Backwards” was released on Transubstans Records in the
end of August.
Space Mirrors - In Darkness They Whisper (TRANS097)
International Space Rock/Metal collective Space Mirrors was founded in
2002 by Russian multi-instrumentalist and producer Alisa Coral. Since
that time Space Mirrors released three albums and featured many talented
musicians from all over the world. Space Mirrors music is often
inspired by Sci-Fi, alien conspiracies and esoteric topics.
In 2011 Alisa Coral started composing the new album, called "In Darkness
They Whisper". The songs of the new album are inspired by the
metaphysical, cosmological and occult concepts developed by H.P.
Lovecraft in his stories. The music combines elements from heavy and
melodic space rock to epic/prog metal. It has more focus on delivering
fine crafted tunes but not forgetting initial space rock fundament.
Artwork is once again created by Kevin Sommers.
The new line-up includes musicians from Russia, Italy, UK, USA and
Denmark, including the legendary Nik Turner (sax, flute) and Alan Davey
(bass) of Hawkwind fame, the space/prog rock virtuoso Cyndee Lee Rule
(Spaceseed, Osiris the Rebirth) on violin, on guitar Massimo Arke of
Opposite Sides & Hortus Animae, Fabio "Amon 418" Bartolini of Hate
Profile & Hortus Animae, John Pack and Allen Welty-Green of the
known American space rock band Spaceseed, Sparky Simmons (Acid FM),
Bjorn Jeppesen a synth player well known for his electronic music
Nattefrost project, and Martyr Lucifer (Hortus Animae) on vocals.
The influences and stories of Lovecraft reveals itself on this album in a
haunting suite of 8 acts;
Chambers of Azatoth, Through The Dream Lands, From Dylath-Leen to the
Dark Side Of The Moon, Moon Battle Of Cats,
To Ngranek, Face Of God, Leng/The Crawling Chaos, and finally, Morning
In Marvellous City!
The colorful artwork is made by Kevin Sommers, and is featured in a
12-page booklet!
The album will be released on Transubstans Records in the beginning of
August, 2012!
Gin Lady - Gin Lady (TRANS096)
BLACK BONZO is dead, long live GIN LADY !! After 3 succesfull albums by
Swedish heavy progressive combo, BLACK BONZO called it a day, or put the
band on ice. Up from the ashes GIN LADY rise, and delivers an album
that is quite remiscent of BLACK BONZO, but leaving some of the
progressive elements behind, and heading towards more classic rock
sound. The Hammond is still here, and so are the melodies, but rather
being inspired by the progressive music, bands like URIAH HEEP, DEEP
PURPLE and MASTERS APPRENTICES comes in mind. This is a real nice debut
album from GIN LADY, and of course really recommended for friends of
heavy (progressive) rock !!
Darxtar - Aged To Perfection = Digipack = (TRANS095)
Aged to Perfection" is Swedens premier space rock combo DARXTAR's
seventh album and their first on the acclaimed Transubstans record
label. The album will be released on May 14th on CD, strictly limited
Vinyl and as download. DARXTAR originally begun as a one-man project in
1989 and have over the years become known as space rock-revival pioneers
in the early 90's (on albums such as Darker, Daybreak & Sju),
pretentious concept album makers in the early 00's (Tombola) and most
recently as experimental psychedelic songwriters in 2005 with "We Came
too Late". In many ways "Aged to Perfection" picks up where "We Came too
Late" left off with its focus on great tunes, but with the bands
initial space rock fundament added to the package. The band always
strives for full artistic freedom and have once again written, recorded,
mixed and produced the album all by themselves.
Barr - Atlantic Ocean Blues = Digipack = (SAK003)
"Atlantic Ocean Blues" is a tribute to the sea, the sun, space and the
music that's coloured by these elements. It has been four years since
"Skogsbo Is The Place", BARR's latest effort that was recorded in a
derelict cottage owned by a relative. It's BARR's time to step out of
that cottage, to find their way into the forest and in the studio. Into a
musical world that the band always dreamed of. "Atlantic Ocean Blues"
is in addition to an constant evolving band also a homage to the forest,
to the darkness and to folk psychadelia. A true masterpiece and a story
about a bands step into wilderness and unknown grounds. And they sure
master it.
"Life came from the sea. We bath in the sun."
Zone Six / Vespero - The Split Thing (TRANS076)
This is the result of a collaboration between Transubstans Records, Russian act VESPERO and German act ZONE SIX.
The first three tracks of this record consists of the atmospheric soundscapes of psychedelic space rockers VESPERO;
a band that combines playfulness and joy with futuristic heavy rhythms. The great recordings of their works has helped
capture their essence; a tight, thick wall of sound, allowing them to give synthesizers the space they need in songs like this.
To sum VESPERO up: a great band whose work is very “airy” yet concentrated from time to time. You will be surprised!
ZONE SIX is a band built up by members from the more outstanding psychedelic space rock scene in Germany.
Some of the keys in the band is Dave Schmidt (ELECTRIC MOON, SULA BASSANA) on the drums and Komet Lulu (ELECTRIC MOON)
on bass and effects. Komet Lulu is also the mastermind behind the cover of this record.
Combining different members from some of the best bands in Germany today (ELECTRIC MOON, THE PANCAKES, VIBRAVOID),
ZONE SIX manages to create an extremely atmospheric sound that will explode deep down in your veins. Their featured track
on “The Split Thing” is called “Babapapatantramanta” and provides the same hypnotizing emotions like the HAWKWIND
albums of the early 70’s did. Highly recommended!
Ett Rop På Hjälp - Hur Svårt Kan Det Vara? (TRANS091)
Welcome to the world of ETT ROP PÅ HJÄLP (A CRY FOR HELP) ! The debut
album from this band from Gothenburg caught me really fast when listened
to their demo they sent us. What caught me was the originality of the
band, but also their lyrics. E.R.P.H. are inspired by the 70's hardrock
scene, NOVEMBER, SOLID GROUND, but also, the band have a bluesy feeling,
and most of their tracks have different grooves and tempos. From hair
raising dreamy tracks, to more forwarded smashers. A highly recommended
album with outstanding lyrics !
Switch Opens - Joint Clash (TRANS073)
SWITCH OPENS from Stockholm, Sweden started out in 2000 as
Fingerspitzengefühl. They made two albums for Kooljunk Communications,
"Fingerspitzengefühl" in 2004 and "Happy Doomsday" in 2006, and decided
to continue as SWITCH OPENS in 2008. The three albums have all been
highly acclaimed in Swedish and European rock press, such as Close-Up
Magazine, Sweden Rock Magazine, Metal Hammer, Rock Hard and numerous
webzines. "Happy Doomsday" was nominated as best metal/punk in the
Swedish independent music awards (Manifest) in 2006. The band has done
extensive gigging on their own, but also supported bands such as
NEUROSIS, SCARS ON BROADWAY and ENTOMBED. The band has earned a
reputation as an adrenalized live act, crushing everything in their way.
Switch Opens signed to GMR Music Group in October 2008 and the
self-titled record was released in Scandinavia in September 2009 and in
the rest of Europe in the end of October. In January 2010, the album won
P3 Guld, the Swedish national radio music awards, in the Rock/Metal
category. In May 2011, the band changed label once again and as result,
"Joint Clash" will be released by Transubstans Records in February!
John Duva - John Duva (TROG004)
JOHN DUVA is a band from Åre in northern Sweden; a place where they've
lived and played together for a long time. Lately, the band moved south,
to the archipelagos of Stockholm. They are all traveling from different
cities in Sweden to meet up and play on the island of Yxlan, Stockholm,
pretty much all the time! With an attitude and a burning passion, they
meet up to play and to dispose the frustration of waking up and wasting
their time with routines and everyday jobs. This is the main factor for
their inspiration, and the heart of their music; to break free from
standard living and create a reality of their own which consists of
music and pure energy. JOHN DUVA is band that you don't categorize,
simply because of the variated impressions they use in their music and
lyrics. Think The Hives meets King Khan & The Shrines, combined with
garage, punk & psych, and you might on your way of getting the
picture! Troglodyte Records and JOHN DUVA found each other rather
quickly, and as a result the debut of JOHN DUVA will be released by
Troglodyte Records in February!
Bobby Sant - It's Just A Lonely Feeling (SAK004)
Bobby Sant has with his debut compiled a highly acoustic track list
infused both with sensitive awareness and a considerable amount of punk
attitude. Except for small guest contributions of piano, harmonica and
electric guitars, the songs is entirely about Sant's sharp, chanting
vocals, rooted somewhere between dark blues and dreamy folk music, and
his fingerpicked guitar. Bobby Sant stands alone in the songs as well as
in the studio and the desolation is a significant theme going through
the whole album. The desolation created after the ones you've left
behind, but also in the missing of the ones you haven't met yet and of
the situations not yet experienced. "Music is life and death for me,
literally. I think I'm a person seeing the world in black or white. The
grey parts just don't interest me" "It's just a lonely feeling" is
rooted in a blend between ancient folk and the contemporary indie scene
in a similar way as acts like Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, and Fleet
Foxes. Sants' songs might not feature any lush vocal harmony
arrangements but is still creating a highly intense and dreamy
soundscape. And like two other big names in the genre, the fellow Swede
The Tallest Man on Earth and Kentucky's Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Sant lets
his songs be built up by battered and broken elements as well as
sincere and tender ones. As a little bonus, the cover photos are taken
by Katie Van Zandt, the daughter of the one and only Townes Van Zandt!
In The Labyrinth - The Garden Of Mysteries (TRANS068)
A reissue of the complete original CD album is due for release in
January 2012, generously refurbished by the Swedish alternative rock
label Transubstans Records, a subdivision of Record heaven. Great
measures have been taken to make it an exact replica of the original
album as delivered by APM in 1996, with only a few exceptions in the
booklet itself and with everything in good order. Due to internal
conflicts which have now been resolved, the album has been out of print
for more than 10 years! So now if anyone wants to get hold of the real
thing, a new opportunity is soon to be on it's way!
Three Seasons - Escape (TRANSV701)
Following the very critically acclaimed album "Life's Road", Swedish
acid rockers THREE SEASONS now delivers a new 7"-single: ESCAPE. Here
you'll find two exceptional tracks - the swift, 60's power trio-rock of
"Escape" and the lengthier, very travelling piece that is "Wood To
Sand". Undoubtedly, Three Seasons have found the sound here, bringing
amazing riffs and the most wicked guitar sound to the table!
Psychedelic-laced heavy blues at its very best! Furthermore this release
also marks the start of the Transubstans Vinyl Club, being available in
400 copies on black vinyl as well as a limited edition of 100 copies on
red vinyl. For them enjoying elements from bands such as LED ZEPPELIN,
JIMI HENDRIX, PINK FLOYD, DEEP PURPLE and SANTANA, this is a must have !
Noctum - The Seance (TRANS094)
Following the cult of Swedish underground band, NOCTUM released their
debut album a small DIY US label in 2010. During the time the band built
up a stronger reputation in Europe, but the European edition was
missing. High Roller put out limited vinyl editions, but still no CD
edition. So Transubstans picked up the band for the debut album, and
will soon release this CD edition including both the "The Seance" and
"The Fiddler" on 1 release. Swedish deluxe occult metal drenched in
blood ripping stories about witchery, blood and black masses. For
friends of WITCHCRAFT, ANGEL WITCH (old), GHOST (SWE) and BLACK SABBATH.
Siena Root - Root Jam (TRANS088)
Above all else, this extensive double live album, is a resume of Siena
Root's early years. This album features all the elements of the band,
from their debut up to recent days. They have managed to pour the bands
dynamic energy from the stage right into this box of 91 minutes root
rock. You will for sure find the good old heavy riffs, side by side with
psychedelic vibes and groovy jams. But there is more, much more to
experience in this magnificent album. There are no less than 9 guest
artists featured, with a range from classical violin by Martin Stensson
from Swedish radio symphonic orchestra, to legendary blues guitarist
Maxi Dread. You will also find a lot of Siena Root family from the past
such as Tängman and vocalists Oskar and Sanya performing songs on a new
level. On top of it all you get previously unreleased material and 2
rare acoustic tracks that reveal a new side of the band. Root Jam is the
album that covers the whole colorful spectra of Siena Root, and it's
all straight from the stage. No overdubs or studio takes what so ever.
If you are into tunes from late 60s, early 70s, you should get your
hands on this album. The album will also be released on LP by Headspin
Records.
My Brother The Wind - I Wash My Soul In The Stream Of Infinity (TRANS090)
2011 welcomes the studio return of My Brother the Wind with their second
album "I Wash My Soul in the Stream of Infinity", a triumph in
majestic, psychedelic space rock.
Recorded in 4 hours on an Ampex MM 1000 16K by Love Tholin at Drop Out Analogue Studio in Åmål during the cold Swedish winter's night of January 22nd and mixed by the band on January 23rd, the album boasts 6 improvised tracks of exquisite beauty, including a tribute song to the late, great Torbjörn Abelli of Swedish influential prog band Träd, Gräs och Stenar. With the focus less on guitar solos and more on group virtuosity, the instrumentation is altered to create interesting and intricately layered soundscapes, distinguishing it from the first album in more ways than one, and channelling the true spirit and sound of the free and innovative 70's, when the soul of experimentation was king and warmth of sound his queen. Starting with the pulsating, driving "Fire! Fire!" and ending with the meanderingly wistful title track, this album offers something for everyone, incorporating every mood and managing to bridge the new and exciting with the comforting familiarity of the past without a hint of cliché, and is already being hailed by leading progressive/psychedelic rock sites as one of the most important releases of 2011.
Line-up / Musicians
Nicklas Barker - Electric guitar, Acoustic 12 string guitar, Mellotron
Mathias Danielsson - lectric guitar & Electric sitar Ronny Eriksson - Bass & Hammond organ Tomas Eriksson - Drums

The Graviators / Brutus - 12'' Split [EP] (TRANSV01)
A 12' split featuring Norwegian / Swedish 70's hard rockers BRUTUS and
the Swedish cornerstone of doom; THE GRAVIATORS. Limited edition, 500
copies, whereof 200 is coloured! This release will hit the stores in the
middle of October, so stay tuned or be doomed.
For fans of PENTAGRAM, REVEREND BIZARRE, ELECTRIC WIZARD and GRAVEYARD,
GRAND FUNK RAILROAD & BLUE CHEER.
Chillihounds - Shake Your Skull (TRANS083)
"Shake Your Skull" is classic rock for a new generation. Even though the
foundation lies steadily upon the heaviness of Black Sabbath and the
riffing rampage is similar to early AC/DC, what makes this ten track
onslaught unforgettable is the sonically in-yer-face production. To top
it all of, the soaring vocals sounds like they belong to the long lost
twin brother of Glenn Danzig or Ian Astbury (The Cult), making this a
must hear for a new generation of riff loving fans. Even though the
focus is set on the crunching sheer power of hard rock, a song like
"Evil mind blues" pays respect to the laid back feel of southern rock,
while the pumping groove of "Heartbeater" is music made for filling
dance floors around the world. Nevertheless, what makes "Shake Your
Skull" stand out in a crowd is because its filled to the brim with
unforgettable choruses you can clench your fist and sing along to.
Reform - Reveries of Reform (TRANS087)
Reveries of Reform is the sixth album by the Swedish group Reform.
Reveries of Reform is a blend of jazz and psychedelic rock with some
EAM. Except for the group's core unit consisting of five people (Jesper
Bergman electric bass and vocals, Peter Åkerberg electric guitar and
assorted keyboards, Anders Bergman drums, Magnus Ramel keyboards and
Mattias Lennestig keyboards) a great deal of other musicians and
composers have contributed to the album. Among those Bill Öhrström, Åke
Eriksson, Per Tjernberg and Ralph Lundsten.
Johnfish Sparkle - Flow (TRANS089)
Italian power trio Johnfish Sparkle strikes back with their second
effort - Flow. Ingredients are always the same; Bluesrock, classic riffs
mixed with a modern taste to make the whole sound more attractive. You
will not be disappointed by their excellent wall of sound! 10 tracks of
pure Zeppelinesque/bluesrock energy! Maybe almost unique in their genre
around Italy these days.
Gordon Fights - Gordon Fights (TRANS084)
Late summer 2008, the Stockholm born GORDON FIGHTS was born with the aim
to create and play great soulful rock music. Genuine, with influences
rooted in everything from LYNYRD SKYNYRD, OTIS REDDING, STOOGES and
JEFFERSON AIRPLANE to more modern acts like SONIC YOUTH and KYUSS. The
band quickly made it self a reputation as an explosive live band, and
shared the stage with bands like GRAVEYARD, DIVISION OF LAURA LEE,
BOMBUS, DOLLHOUSE and THE MOVEMENT, to name a few. This summer GORDON
FIGHTS will do their first overseas gig, at the exclusive festival Duna
Jam, located on Sardinia's Beaches.
S.K.U.R.K - Häxa (DEN003)
The worlds first and only metal band who sings in the rawest dialect on
the planet; Skånska. A combination of brutality and melody, delivered
with personal lyrics and saucy singing. The follow-up to critically
acclaimed debut album "666 Personligheter / 666 Personalities" is called
"Häxa" and the release is set to September 17th. This follow-up is
steeped by a dark yet justified soundstage and with help from great
mixing and great efforts from the band, S.K.U.R.K has now taken their
sound to a whole new level.
Thalamus - Subterfuge (TRANS085)
Subterfuge is the second full-length album from the Swedish Hard
Rock/Classic Rock band Thalamus. Compared to the debut"Beneath a dying
sun", it's more 70's oriented and not so much riff focused. On
Subterfuge a great change is the Hammond organ that was fully integrated
on the EP"Sign here for nothing". The organ tends to fit in really well
and takes Thalamus the extra mile. Subterfuge has equal parts of
midtempo songs, low tempo and hard stuff, which makes it a great
listening record, never tending to get tiring or out of focus. The
guitar work is more thoughtful and the solo parts, outstanding. What may
differ the most from the debut, are the vocals, which are more mature,
more developed and more dynamic. The album kicks off with a low tempo
introduction with a Mississippi blues feel, "Bring down Mary" tends to
spin off into a fast hard rock tune."When goblins cheer" has a low tempo
doom flavor to it, with a chorus that brings your mind to early
Rainbow. "Blind" (the bands first single) takes you into Deep Purple
mood. In all, Subterfuge has something for everyone's mind or mood. You
get great ballads with rock flavor in songs like"Here today, gone
tomorrow" and"Through the fields". You get your blues nerve satisfied in
songs like"I hope you understand" and"Shot to Hell". With songs like
"Love is shining on the dead man" you actually get a bit of a
seventies/nineties alternative pop feel. And you get to headbang to
songs like "Still dancing on your grave" and "She sells desolation".
Skraeckoedlan - Äppelträdet (TRANS081)
Fuzzrock quartet from Norrköping Sweden. Inspired by awesome rock
pioneers such as Captain Beyond, Black Sabbath, Kuyss and new
groundbreaking rock bands like The Sword, Mastodon and High on Fire; the
Nordic woodsmen from outer space creates a blend of powerful fuzzy rock
and melodic, groovy tunes.
Slidin' Slim - One Man Riot (TRANS086)
What happens if you take a bluesman strongly rooted in the Mississippi
delta and place him in a modern musical environment and mess up his
original tunes with loops, samples and other sonic adventures? You'll
get "One man riot"! A CD for fans of deep blues, Tom Waits, Chris
Whitley and Nine Inch Nails! Originally released in the US back in 2007
to worldwide praise from magazines and listeners. Now re-releases by
Transubstans Records with 2 brand new bonus tracks!
Jeremy Irons & The Ratgang Malibus - Bloom (TRANS082)
The grand return of the krautrock, and other similar musical
pharmaceuticals, have yet again entrenched itself in many peoples ears.
It is music with a retrospective way of thinking that takes its
listeners on adventurous excursions deep into ones mind. Music that aim
to broaden your horizons and consciousness. JI&TRM will make an
impact on you in the same way with their second album Bloom; an
innovative and highly personal take on the psychedelic rock and the very
use of its many components and elements. As the indicating seriousness
of the first line of the opening track reveals; "It's not a joke this
time. I'm leaving reality for sure". The band's musical references are
more in a multi-colored fashion compared to it's predecessor Elefanta
and has really taken the songs straight through the prism. Because what
we hear, among a number of things, is a massive use of sweeping passages
of dripping wet guitars that shake and tremble well into the morning,
song dressed in an oceanic reverb that pours through the panting rock
and roll, melodies that move in cycles and works that have a run time of
more than nine minutes. The powerful debut of the organ can also be
seen as a direct result of this change in influences, and the musical
guest behind it, the gifted Patrik Kolar, whose masterful and accurate
playing adds even further dimensions to an already well nuanced
repertoire.
Anima Morte - The Nightmare Becomes Reality (TRANS080)
Swedish instrumental quartet ANIMA MORTE plays music inspired by the
classic Italian horror and giallo soundtracks made famous by Goblin,
Fabio Frizzi, Ennio Morricone and many more. With their roots in classic
progressive rock they make perfect use of Hammond organs, Mellotrons
and Moogs to create a creepy and haunting atmosphere. Anima Morte is
finally back with the follow-up to the cultclassic album 'Face The Sea
Of Darkness', This time they take their 70'ies inspired progressive
horror rock one step further. Together with producer Mattias Olsson
(Änglagård, White Willow) they delve deep into dark atmospheres and
intricate experimental arrangements without loosing the track of strong
musical themes.Highly recommended if you enjoy the music of horror
movies past, but also classic prog acts such as King Crimson, ELP and
Rick Wakeman.
Alex Carole & The Crush - Vol. 1 (TROG003 )
Debut album from Swedish band with their 9 tracker that delivers smart
and well written powerpop style with a rough edge to it. Mixing the
early CHEAP TRICK (Debut album) with ALICE COOPER (School's Out) and a
little spice from HELLACOPTERS. Rough guitars and well performed
choruses makes this a album that sticks to your mind immediately !
Anima Morte - Face The Sea Of Darkness (TRANS067)
This is pure Italian horror-soundtrack worship at its very best!
Incredibly talented, creepy, dark, and haunting. This 11 song debut
album is a MUST for fans of Goblin, Fabio Frizzi, and Morte Macabre.
These zombies from Sweden have crafted a wonderfully mesmerizing and
diabolic piece of work and we are very proud to bring it to you. Re
issue in digipack with 2 bonus tracks.
Ginger Trees - Along With The Tide (TRANS077)
The 2nd album from Swedish GINGER TREES. A fine release that holds the
influences of everything between PORCUPINE TREE to URIAH HEEP, KULA
SHAKER and PINK FLOYD. Great melodies, especially in the vocals, and a
band to watch out for !!
Three Seasons - Life's Road (TRANS079)
Three Seasons are Sartez (ex SIENA ROOT vocalist), guitar and vocals,
Olle, bass, and Christian, drums. While all of us are very different
from each other, one could surely say that in some senses, we're fairly
similar too. THREE SEASONS is a mash-up of our thoughts, minds and
bodies, together forming sounds possibly reminding of bands and
musicians such as DEEP PURPLE, LED ZEPPELIN, PINK FLOYD, JIMI HENDRIX,
THE DOORS, BLACK SABBATH, FREE, GOV'T MULE, MOUNTAIN and SANTANA.
Dirty Passion - Different Tomorrow (DEN002)
So here we got the debut from Swedish DIRTY PASSION. A quartet that
bring you serious kick ass rock, influenced from the seventies and
eighties classic rock style, going from Y&T and NASTY IDOLS to
MOTLEY CRUE and FASTER PUSSYCAT. A superb album that is both varied and
skillfulled performed with plenty of hooks and melodies that stick to
your mind immediately. A band to watch out for !!
The Graviators - The Graviators = Book Cover = (TRANS062)
Super heavy and occult 70's hardrock / doom by this new band with
members of NYMF. Think ELECTRIC WIZARD, PENTAGRAM, WITCHCRAFT and
REVEREND BIZARRE. First pressing.
Mangrove - A Distant Dream of Tomorrow (TRANS070)
Mangrove is a heavy and powerful classic rock trio with their roots in
the late 60:s and the early 70:s hard rock and psychedelic scene. Groovy
jams and heavy chords is one of Mangrove`s trademarks. Mangrove was
born in the late fall of 2006 in Stockholm (Sweden) after many late
night jams and rehearsals. The first album "Endless Skies" was released
in May 2009 on Transubstans Records, with lots of awesome reviews in
both Music Magazines and Web Fanzines as a result. In November 2010
Mangrove releases their second album "A Distant Dream Of Tomorrow" on
Transubstans Records. The album contains ten songs which are energetic,
powerful and dynamic. The feeling is that the band has reached a new
level. Mangrove has a lot of different influences, but as a listener you
can not be mistaken if you can hear some similarity with bands like
Black Sabbath, Rush, Led Zeppelin and The Who among others.
Crystal Caravan - Against the rising tide (TRANS065)
The 2nd album of CRYSTAL CARAVAN brings the North Swedish band into new
dimensions. Seeing the band on stage is a truely rememberable
experience, and so is it hearing them on in your homespeakers. This
hybrid of classic hardrock sounds and psychedelic flower power style
takes elements from URIAH HEEP, STEPPENWOLF and JEFFERSON AIRPLANE, the
band just do it far more intense and wilk. The big question is; How many
of liters of sweat are lying on the stage once they left it ??
Mother Misery - Standing Alone (TRANS069)
With their new album "Standing Alone" MOTHER MISERY introduces you to
another world. A world of supersonic rock with a modern direction that
draws your mind into a mix of Audioslave, Foo Fighters, Drowning Pool,
Mustasch etc. The 11 track album is filled to the rim with heavy guitars
and thunder bass that will knock you off your seat and the strong
in-your-face vocals produce strong powerful melodies with the attitude
of a highspeed desert deathrace. Standing Alone will set a remaining
mark in the heavy rock and metal soil of 2011... with a start right NOW
!!
The Divine Baze Orchestra - Dead but dreaming (TRANS074)
"An established name in the Scandinavian progressive scene, The Divine
Baze Orchestra has been working on their sound for almost eight years.
Their debut "Once We Were Born" recieved good reviews all over the
continent, and now the quintet announce the release of their anticipated
sophomore album, entitled "Dead but Dreaming". The lead singer and
guitarist Oliver Eek describes the new album as a tribute to H.P
Lovecraft, the late legendary fantasy writer. "The lyrics", Oliver
continues, "are heavily inspired by Lovecraft's work, especially the
"Cthulu"-suite, and deals with themes such as cosmic horror and forces
that stand above the power of humanity." The five members' great musical
talent is apparent, with complex arrangements that never limit
themselves to genre, but at the same time accurately follows the lyrical
twists and turns. "Dead But Dreaming" sounds like no other album in the
genre, and marks a big step in the development of progressive and art
rock music. A must-have for fans of H.P LOVECRAFT, KING CRIMSON and
URIAH HEAP.
Tombstones - Volume II (TRANS063)
"Volume II" is a 9-song-long manifestation of how heavy rock should
sound like in 2010. The album is recorded live and analog, and will
kick-start rock-hearts with a weakness for warm and tube-driven
distortion. The sound of Tombstones is crushingly massive, suggestive
and down-tuned, and has references to the best milestones of heavy-rock
through time. The collaboration of Billy Anderson and Audun Strype from
the prior album continues and they purify the sound Tombstones has
developed as their trademark on "Volume II". Through riffs, sounds,
lyrics and mood the fog comes oozing from the dark woods of Norway.
NYMF - S/T (TRANS071)
NYMF is a heavy rockband from south Sweden, stationed in the small town
of Karlshamn. The band was formed around 2007 by the singer, Niklas
Sjöberg (also the singer from "The Graviators") And the guitarist,
Kristofer Stjernquist. Their music idea was to create a mix of the
genres they loved the most - Doom, Stonerrock and Metal. In 2008 NYMF
recorded their first demo with Johan Blomström (Kaptain Sun, Spice and
the RJ Band, Faith ao). At the Soundpalace studio in Svängsta. They got a
very nice review of their demo in the swedish "CLOSE-UP MAGAZINE and
SWEDEN ROCK MAGAZINE" Thomas Tjäder and Daniel Larsson Addictive
Alliance (At the Gates, In Flames, Soilwork, The Haunted etc) have made
their first music video Man´s End. And this very demo happened to fall
in the tastes of Transubstans Records. NYMF's eagerly awaited debut
album will be released 2010-10-10. They will also star for the second
time in Close-Up Magazine (#125).
Stonewall Noise Orchestra - Sweet Mississippi Deal (TRANS072)
Here's the third album "Sweet Mississippi Deal" from Sweden's finest
heavy rock band Stonewall Noise Orchestra. Influenced by bands like
Black Sabbath, Soundgarden and Monster Magnet they manage to deliver
their own unique version of pure ground pounding rock with great vocals
and melodies. We say thanks to S.N.O. for keepin rock´n roll in the
2010's alive.
Lonely Kamel - Blues for The dead (TRANS064)
Lonely Kamel came alive in Oslo, Norway after a few jam sessions in a
friend`s basement summer of 2006. All the guys were inspired by classic
hard rock and blues from the golden era. So it was easy to put together
the first songs which was released on the selftitled album in 2008 to
great reviews. Now the band are ready with the 2nd album "Blues for the
dead" on Transubstans (2010). Dirty, heavy blues and with clear
references to stoner rock and the space rock genrè. Lonely Kamel is a
really active band, and rumours say that the 3rd album is already in the
making and ready for the studio fall 2010.
